“Art, beautiful landscapes, elegance! All in one place!”
Even though the Huntington is a bit out of the way on the edge of LA, it's absolutely worth the trip. This elegant home, once a mansion for a well-connected family, now operates as an impressive museum. It houses the famous painting of the boy in blue, but the Huntington offers more than just top-tier artwork—it also features stunning landscaping throughout the grounds. Consider taking the tour or enjoying high tea in a peaceful setting, but be sure to set aside time for the botanical gardens. This fall of 2010, the Huntington will present a remarkable collection of Renaissance and Baroque sculptures. You won't regret visiting this museum.

“Stunning”
This place is breathtaking; the Chinese and Japanese gardens truly transported me to another world. The children's garden was whimsical and really captured the kids' attention. The grounds are massive and could easily occupy a whole day. My mom uses a walker, not a wheelchair, and she was a trooper, managing about three-quarters of it before we stopped. If she had needed a wheelchair, it would have been tough to navigate everywhere. Much of the gardens require stepping off paved paths to fully enjoy, so it would be challenging. A must-see for anyone visiting the LA area.

“Worth the trip!”
We've visited here several times. We always love the exhibits and the botanical gardens. It's a great place to spend several hours. There's also a nice restaurant. Very artsy! And we always see and meet very eclectic people.

“Beautiful and Charming”
The Huntington is many things: a library, an art museum, and a beautiful botanical garden. You can spend hours here wandering through the gardens and soaking in the lovely, quiet atmosphere. Even if you don't indulge in the traditional English tea with scones, finger sandwiches, cheeses, and petits-fours, take a peek inside the charming Rose Garden Tea Room. The art museum section is small but features a couple of famous Gainsborough paintings worth seeing. I've visited three times, and my favorite activity is simply walking through the stunning gardens—the visit is worthwhile for that alone!
