This is the smallest category in the directory by venue count, but it's not just weight rooms — yoga studios, spinning classes, and spa-style amenities like massage and sauna show up often enough among the listings that 'gym' ends up meaning something broader here than a typical franchise gym would.
Most cities with any gym listings at all tend to have just one or two, so this category rewards checking the specific amenities a place offers rather than assuming every listing looks the same. The amenities breakdown below is built directly from what's tagged on real listings.

What People Are Saying
“Good for all sorts”
I mostly go to the Downtown gym at 6th and Congress and to the one on West Ben White Boulevard on weekends. Both have pros and cons. The downtown one is in a basement, but if you focus on your workout and the many attractive people there, it's fine. The Ben White location is much larger and recently got new equipment.

“Pretty good gym”
A solid gym with all the usual equipment you'd find anywhere. Being in the city center means it's small, and the men's locker room is particularly tight and narrow, getting very crowded during busy times. The group exercise room, though, is spacious. Front desk staff are welcoming and make an effort to say hello to everyone coming and going.
A visitor on 24 Hour Fitness, Market Street
The OSEA skincare line helps repair skin damaged by summer sun. This month, each facial comes with a complimentary lash tint.
A visitor on Koru Touch
“Popular massage spa in South End”
This massage spa is gay-owned but now serves a diverse group of clients. The massage therapists are skilled and the location is convenient. The only downside is that there are no showers available after a massage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many gay-friendly gyms are listed on this directory?
The number is shown in the stats above and updates automatically as listings are added, verified, or closed.
Do these gyms offer classes like yoga or spinning, not just weights?
Many do — yoga and spinning are both common tags in this category, alongside more traditional weight-room amenities. Check an individual listing's tags to see what it actually offers.
Do any of these have a sauna or spa, not just workout equipment?
Some do — sauna, spa, and massage are all tags that show up in this category, particularly among larger fitness clubs. The amenities breakdown on this page reflects the real mix.
Which cities have the most gym listings?
Larger metro areas tend to have the most, but coverage is uneven since this is the smallest category overall — many cities with a strong bar or restaurant scene may have just one or two gym listings, or none yet.
How do I find gyms in a specific city?
Use the search bar above, or browse the Top Cities and Browse by State sections below — every city with a listed gym has its own page with the full list.
