Palace of Fine Arts

Arts & Culture · San Francisco, CA

About

Most people come for the grand rotunda and swan-filled lagoon, not a performance. But the Palace of Fine Arts also hosts theater, concerts, and events in its 1,000-seat indoor venue. The stunning Greco-Roman architecture makes any show feel monumental. It's a unique space where queer arts events occasionally take place, drawing a diverse crowd.

Check hours before you go, the interior venue has limited public hours. Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm are your windows. For a full day, pair a show with a stroll through the Presidio or a visit to the nearby Walt Disney Family Museum.
