About

Reviewers call the New Amsterdam Theatre's interior "amazing" — specifically the ceilings and balconies. This Broadway theater, operated by Disney Theatrical Productions, has recently hosted Aladdin, Mary Poppins, and The Lion King. It's a Times Square landmark with ornate design that draws audiences even before the show starts.

Seating can be tight: reviewers warn that leg room is limited outside the orchestra, and balcony seats may challenge those afraid of heights. The theater runs daily shows with box office hours from 10am. If you're catching a Disney musical, plan a stretch break at intermission. Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) offers a different kind of spectacle for a full day in midtown.

Aladdin is a must-see, different from the movie.

“Architecturally beautiful”

The interior design and decoration are worth seeing, with amazing work on the ceilings and balconies. For seating, legroom can be an issue unless you're in the orchestra section. We saw 'Aladdin' and after intermission you'll need to stretch or you won't make it through the show without pain. Also, if you're afraid of heights, avoid the balcony.
