About
The ocean breeze filters through the windows of a 1924 beachfront villa, now home to the Art Museum of Myrtle Beach. It's the only non-profit visual arts museum in the city, offering free admission every day. Eleven galleries rotate throughout the year, showcasing everything from paintings and sculpture to video and ceramics. The museum also hosts artist receptions, tours, lectures, and workshops for adults and children.
You'll find the museum in the Downtown area, with hours Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm (closed Mondays). Free WiFi is available. Since it's small and locally focused, you can see the entire collection in an hour or two. Regulars know to check the calendar for special events like author readings and kid-friendly workshops.
