“Be GAY somewhere else!”

The staff showed no concern for guests' comfort. I found the owner rude and condescending. I was in the back patio where it got cold. The bartender allowed me to use the gas heaters. One didn't work, so I moved to another. About 20 minutes later, a woman who didn't seem to be staff confronted me rudely about what I was doing. It got confusing when she told me to put a table in a walkway after saying tables can't block paths. My group decided to leave after one more drink. The bartender asked if I had sorted things out back; I said no. Apparently there was a waitress assigned to that area all along. When paying, the bartender asked if they resolved the issue. I said she never returned or did anything. She overheard and yelled that she was told not to. I asked who told her that. The owner replied that he did, then approached me, put his large hand on me, and ordered me out, saying never come back. This was handled poorly, waiting until after I spent money to kick me out under false assumptions. Honestly, this is the worst gay bar I've been to. Birmingham has few options, so we tolerate bad owners and service, though the bartender was really good. He was the only staff I could identify before the trouble started. Note to owner: banning me means you lose my whole group. Expect fewer regulars.

“Al's on Seventh -- a GREAT place!”

Even though this bar has changed names multiple times in the last decade, it's now an excellent spot to party any night of the week. Great drag shows, fantastic music, karaoke, and wonderful drink specials throughout the week.
