Trunks

I need to file a complaint about a security guard who was extremely rude. Last night he kicked me out just for standing at the bar, and I saw him do the same to someone else in the same spot. This isn't the first time either. He was very aggressive, lifting my arms over my head and punching my stomach, which still hurts. I think he's either jealous of my favorite bartender named Mario or just enjoys being nasty. You should look into why this guard is so violent, especially since this bar usually has such an amazing vibe unmatched by any other in West Hollywood. He's a heavy-set black man—that's how to identify him. The only problem here is the violent security; everything else is fantastic. Watch out for that big black guard.

“A local fixture, always good.”

If you want a solid local bar with cheap drinks, friendly people, and good pool tables, this is the place. Trunks is always fun but never exceptional. It's typically used as a starting or ending point for a night out, and it excels at that role.

“Great”

This bar is welcoming and serves excellent drinks. It's fun by the front window where nonsmokers stay inside and smokers are outside. It's a great way to spend an evening together, and it's close to other bars if you want to visit more.

“Seen better!”

I visited on a moderately busy Sunday night in May 2010. I disagree with the other reviews: the bartenders seemed polite but bored and tired, the floor was dirty with napkins and trash, and the overall atmosphere felt unpleasant. As a tourist and not a regular, first impressions really matter.

“Great Place!”

Everyone is very friendly and the drinks are affordable, so I can't ask for much more. I enjoy meeting new people when I go out, and if that's your goal, this place is perfect. If you're a stuck-up, bitchy queen who thinks you're the best thing ever, then this bar probably isn't for you.
