“CACOON”
The crowd was significantly older, which probably explains the poor music. While I sat drinking, I nearly dozed off. Whatever you do, avoid going to 'NOT SO INNOCENT' next door. The owner there made for an incredibly boring afternoon. I couldn't wait to return to my resort.

“A Hopping Tropical-Themed Bar and Club”
Toucans is a tropical tiki bar and club just north of downtown Palm Springs. Inside, there's seating with tables, a go-go stage, and a small dance floor on the left, while a pentagonal bar takes up most of the right side. A banquette with tables sits in front of the bar, and a narrow smoking patio (with pass-through access to the bar) is on the right. I visited with my cousin on a Tuesday evening in late July. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night—makes me wonder what weekends are like. The crowd was mixed, with plenty of attractive guys, and some friendly ones too. No cover charge, and I paid about $6 for a rum and cola. Drinks were quite strong, so you definitely get good value. On the downside, the smoking patio closed at 1:20am, and everyone was kicked out by 1:45am. Still, I'd definitely go back—maybe next time.
