About

The main bar sits right in the middle of the action at Beaux, but you'll find two other bars if you head toward the back dance floor or upstairs. This Castro nightclub, formerly Trigger, draws a crowd of mostly 20s to 40s with a twink-heavy vibe. Drag brunches and go-go boys are regular draws, and it's not uncommon to spot a RuPaul's Drag Race alum working the room.

Skip the main bar if you want a faster drink—bartender Sebastian gets high marks for a fabulous margarita, and the back bar tends to be quicker. The music is recent pop mixed at a volume that lets you flirt without shouting. There's a dress code, so no beachwear or athletic gear. If you're in the mood for a quieter cocktail before heading out, Trick Dog is a few blocks away.

Beaux sits in the heart of the Castro, San Francisco's historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood, surrounded by bars, clubs, and shops.

“Beaux”

That bartender is charming and good-looking. He makes an excellent margarita too. Everyone seems welcome, whether they're a twink, older, lesbian, or butch.

“Best cocktails and dancing in Castro”

BroMance nights on Wednesday are fantastic. Two-dollar pitchers of Bud Light from 8:30 to 10 PM—what a deal. The shot guys are attractive and flirty.

“Men, Drinks an Dance - A very good thing”

The line to get in was short, and the place was packed with attractive people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s—what's not to like. The decor and lighting are stylish, with the main bar right in the center, though the good-looking bartenders need to work faster and take orders in sequence. I waited too long for a Jack on the rocks, Bud Light, and Coke for friends. Next time I'll skip the main bar and go to the one near the back dance floor or upstairs, and I'll definitely try one of the signature drinks. The music was fun—recent hits—and the DJ mixed well to keep the small dance floor lively without being too loud, perfect for flirting and telling a cute guy he's a hot dancer. There was also a RuPaul's Drag Race celebrity there, and I got a cute selfie with her, which was the gay cherry on top. Yes, I'll be back with more friends for more fun soon.

Drinks are weak and overpriced. I predict it won't last more than six months.
