Open from 5pm to midnight or 2am depending on the night, Stud fits neatly into a SOMA bar crawl or as the main destination. It's San Francisco's oldest LGBTQ+ bar, now revived at a new Folsom Street location after nearly closing. The space keeps its dive bar bones while hosting drag shows, karaoke, and a rotating roster of themed parties.
Regulars know Wednesday nights start at 9pm and carry into the early hours. The all-ages policy means you'll see a mix of generations on the dance floor. Grab a drink at the happy hour before the crowd rolls in.

Keep going to the Stud and buying drinks there. It's a fun spot where your night can take any direction. Oh yeah, that other bar is great too.

For a while it seemed like the city was going to lose this essential piece of queer history, but the Stud has reopened!

“good place for weekends”
I haven't been to this place, but I can tell it's a cool spot to visit. It was supposed to close due to a new owner and landlord tripling the rent, but the Stud is still open. That's a good thing it didn't close after all. Give it a try; it's a friendly place.

I love The Stud! The staff is warm and welcoming. The parties are diverse, energetic, and creative. It's one of the last real clubs in the SOMA district in San Francisco. And I love it! GOI.
