Chez Est

Chez Est is known as one of the most welcoming and community-oriented bar-restaurant-cabaret spots in the local LGBTQ scene. The owners have renovated the space over the past few years and it now offers lots of fun entertainment. Their local and headliner drag shows are excellent and performed on a professionally lit stage. They host themed events weekly and monthly, including the Chez Legends drag competition. The staff and service are great, and the food menu has tasty, affordable options. The bar has reasonably priced drinks, comparable to other nearby places. They have monthly drink specials, comfortable seating, TVs around the venue for viewing the stage from a distance, a private outdoor patio with seating and umbrellas, gender neutral restrooms, a VIP lounge, ATM, coat check, and a good sound system. The parking lot is medium-sized and can fill up on busy nights, but there is plenty of free street parking on Meadow St. This local business is worth visiting, and you will likely have an enjoyable night at Chez Est, where there is something for everyone.

This is the best and oldest club in Connecticut and they are open seven days a week, not just one night a week.

“Drag and Beyond!”

Chez Est is undergoing a fantastic remodel that is amazing to see. It's my favorite place on Friday nights for the 'Sassie Says' dance party hosted by drag queen Sassie Saltimboca, with drink specials and great music by the best DJs. Latin Night happens on the first and third Saturdays, hosted by Grace Nations, with hot music and an even hotter crowd. The venue is also available for VIP events and charity functions.

“For the traveler...”

In my opinion, bars and clubs with an internet presence need to keep it up to date. A splash screen saying 'I'm working on it' with a calendar of events over four months old shows they haven't bothered to update it, making my visit a waste of time. I understand not every bar can have a professional web developer, but if even their social media pages have links that are months old or inactive, I don't have time to spend money at a place with such a lackadaisical attitude toward their image. We're well past the internet age; I can't be the only one who forms a first impression from a business's online presence, and I make my decision based on that. By the time I get in the car, my research is done. If they can't put in that simple effort, they won't get my time or money.
