Crimson Moon
Dancing · Video Bar · Wilmington, DE
About
Crimson Moon operates in a two-story townhouse, with a video bar downstairs and a dance floor upstairs. It's New Castle County's only LGBTQ+ dedicated social space, serving strong drinks at reasonable prices in a divey, casual setting.
The bar offers outdoor seating and a full bar with happy hour specials. Friday nights are busiest per reviews, but the location requires street parking in a residential area. Some patrons have noted racial diversity issues that the venue may want to address.

“Keep Going!”
My husband and I were convinced, along with six friends, to check out a local bar instead of driving to Philadelphia like we usually do on Saturdays. None of us had been there before, but the hype made it seem worth trying. The bar is located in a very rough part of the city and feels quite unsafe, especially since you have to find street parking. When we arrived, it looked like someone's house, which is usually fine, so we went in anyway. There was no friendly greeting at all, so we headed upstairs toward the loud techno music since downstairs was crowded and small. Upstairs was just as tiny with a small dance floor and loud music. We ordered drinks, which were good. My six single friends walked around to mingle. We had heard there would be scantily clad shot boys, and there were, but they were all white. When my friend asked if they had any minority shot boys, they said no, the owner doesn't hire "them" for that role. The crowd was mostly cliques of white men, and our Black friends felt ignored, even when requesting songs. My white friends who are into Black men felt out of place because there were no men of color present or catered to. We left that evening feeling we should have just kept driving. My advice to you is the same: keep going to somewhere else.

“The Best Club in Wilmington!”
This is the only gay club in its city. It's actually a two-story townhouse right in the middle of a residential area. The music is good, the drinks are strong, and the crowd is very diverse. So stop by the city's largest, most luxurious, and hottest gay club... it's the best because it's the only one! So no complaints here, not going to throw out the boy with the bathwater.
