“Cover charge? why?”
I was visiting from out of town and was surprised to have to pay a cover charge at a small town bar. I don't see why because the bar wasn't worth it and the drinks are weak. And the slow service from the bar is another issue. I'm not coming back.

We have been going to the oldest gay bar in our city since 1989. If something is happening, it's happening at The Bar.

“Dated Facility and Poor Service”
This used to be a lively spot in its city. The drag show and staff are the most disappointing. The drag performers just go through the motions, and their routines and outfits are outdated or repetitive. The bartenders are okay, but the other staff are unfriendly. I understand the new manager is responsible for losing good drag queens and other employees. The music person was also a letdown. I'll have to check out other places.

“Used to be AWESOME”
Some of my best nights have been at The Bar Complex, but I'm afraid those nights are gone. I went last weekend and it broke my heart. It was midnight on a Saturday and there were maybe 40 people there. The bartenders and doormen, who used to be very friendly and smiling, seemed miserable and angry. The show was slow and the performers just seemed to go through the motions. No one was dancing upstairs and only a few people were in the lounge. This bar used to be the place to go in its city, but now there's more competition and it's taken a toll on what was once a gay staple. If they want to be the hub they once were, they need to step up their game quickly. It was disheartening to see what my former favorite bar has become. The 2-star rating is for nostalgia only.
