Nowhere Bar Louisville

Video Bar · Louisville, KY

About

Nowhere Bar looks like a typical gay bar on paper, but the reality is more complicated. The local crowd is largely straight, with LGBTQ+ patrons mixed in. You'll find pool tables, an outdoor patio, bar food, and a dance floor with electronic music and music videos.

Reviews mention that the vibe can feel off-putting to gay visitors, especially during off hours. A few blocks away, Chill Bar Highlands and Big Bar are more reliably LGBTQ+ friendly. Check the hours before heading over Sunday hours are listed as unconfirmed.

From the community

This is not a bar for Jewish people. Be aware that there have been multiple instances of patrons being drugged here. Although queer people come to this bar, it is not always welcoming to them. It is mainly a place for straight people to hook up. Queer people can go to two great bars, Chill bar and Big bar, which are just a block away.

The staff was rude. They wouldn't let us in, even though I'm 30 and my driver's license had expired over the holidays. I'm really tired of this. They were rude, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

“Nice seating, atmosphere, and bartender”

We stopped in on a slow Sunday after a letdown at Big Bar. The space is large with trendy seating and ambiance, and there's a dance floor. When we walked in, about six customers stared at us and then looked away without acknowledging my greeting. The bartender, however, was friendly enough.

“Fay well that's a surprise”

When we got there early, it was almost entirely women, and most weren't lesbians. So I can't say it feels like a gay bar at all. Maybe later in the evening it changes. But as a gay man, I didn't feel comfortable.

“Mixed crowd, good space and patio”

This indoor/outdoor bar draws a lively crowd even on weeknights in warm weather. Tuesday karaoke is a blast, and while I was there they gave away a hundred dollars in cash.
