Walk into Shipwreck Lounge and the first thing you notice is the large fireplace surrounded by cozy barrel chairs. This upscale cocktail lounge, located at the Brass Key Guesthouse, opened in 2009 and has a warm, sophisticated vibe with wood tones and comfortable seating.
The outdoor patio features a fountain and a gas fire pit, and it's dog-friendly. Happy hour is on offer, and Thursday through Saturday are the busiest nights. The crowd tends to be slightly older, often groups of friends meeting up after dinner before heading to other spots like Crown & Anchor .

“not a regular”
Stopped by to meet friends before dinner. The bartender wasn't very welcoming. The drinks tasted watered down. I gave a good tip and didn't even get a thank you.

“New and different for ptown”
I was surprised to learn about a new bar opening here, as it's very uncommon. This one, however, feels like a success. The bar occupies the lobby of the Brass Key inn and the courtyard behind it. The bartenders were good-looking and the drinks were potent. It's a pleasant place to have a drink with friends, sit by the fire, or connect with your group if you're staying at different places. This is the spot for after dinner but before A-House, so it might not be ideal for meeting new people (most guests were in groups). The crowd leaned a bit older than at other spots, but that was fine with me.
