About
Poolside at the Empress Hotel, this club blends drag shows, live music, and dancing with a swimming pool you can actually use. Summer is prime time here, but the party runs year-round with karaoke, cocktail lounge vibes, and a lively mixed crowd that skews 20s and 30s.
Friday nights bring drag shows; Saturday nights feature male strippers, which draws a lot of straight couples and groups. The bartenders keep things moving, and since it's one of the few dance floors at the shore, the energy stays high. Cover varies by date and event, so check ahead.

“Full of straights and bridesmaids parties”
Because of the male strippers on Saturday nights, the place is packed with straight couples and cheap bridesmaids getting drunk, groping the strippers, and being obnoxious. Friday nights have drag shows, but that doesn't stop the straight invasion. The bartenders do their best, but since this is one of the only dance floors at the Jersey shore, their hands are tied, and not in a good way. It's sad to see our gay establishments being invaded and overrun by rude straight people.

“Is this for gay/lesbian / bi-sexual”
If that's the case, then count me in! I've been looking for a club that accepts all of the above.

“Great place”
I stayed for 3 days and it was clean. The pool was great, the restaurant was great, and the drag show was great. It's across from the beach and near new stores and restaurants. The boardwalk was nice for walking, and the beach was beautiful. The city is being rebuilt after being torn down. The hotel guide in the room recommended restaurants, and several I tried were all great. I'm looking forward to going again soon.
