Main Event
Just remember it is free to get in and it is free to get out!
About
Walking into Main Event, you'll find a dimly lit dive bar with a pool table and cheap drinks. Open from 5:30 am to 2:30 am daily, it's a spot where the crowd is mixed and attitudes are left at the door. The bartenders are friendly, though some reviews mention inconsistent service and a rough around the edges feel. It's free to get in and free to get out.

“Not a fan”
I am not a regular bar-goer, and I'm older, so I want a quiet place where you can actually have a conversation. Someone tried to sell me pot there, which really upset me. I don't think I've been back since. The bartender heard the guy but didn't say anything to him. I left and called a few minutes later, and the bartender said he handled it. The only people who seem to enjoy themselves are the welfare types that everyone has to tolerate. The only good experience I had there was one Monday night when the place was empty except for a guy I talked to. Don't even approach older unattractive men; they don't know how to behave in this city but expect you to. If someone is friendly, assume they want something like you buying them a drink—and I don't mean young attractive guys. I have a very negative attitude about Cincinnati, period.

“This isn't a gay bar”
This location was previously a gay bar named Carol's, but it is no longer a gay bar. I stopped by twice after work and encountered straight African American patrons.

“Nice place to Chill...”
While exploring downtown Cincinnati, I went into this bar for a drink. It was quiet and not crowded. The bartender was friendly and interesting to talk to. For a Tuesday evening with no other plans, I had as good a time as possible. The space is large. The drinks are affordable and generously poured. It is definitely worth a stop if you're nearby. Let the bartender know he got a good review.

“great little dive bar”
Yes, this bar is a bit of a dive. But you won't find friendlier bartenders anywhere else in the city. It's a relaxed dive bar with no attitude where you can just go and have fun. Nobody is pretentious, and you don't have the typical crowd of young, model-type guys being rude to everyone over 22. The drinks are cheap and strong, and the manager is the nicest person you'll ever meet. If you want an upscale club, you'll be disappointed. If you just want to relax, get a buzz, and have a good time, you'll enjoy yourself.

“GARBAGE.”
Subway is one of the grossest places I've ever been. Last time, the bartender wouldn't even take my drink order, and when I finally got one, it was watery or just the worst drink ever. JR is nice and a great cook, but the bar is dark, the bathrooms are scary, and there are too many people wanting you to buy them drinks.
