“Not gay but it has live music and hot dogs :)”

It's not a full restaurant—just a bar that serves hot dogs with around fifty different toppings and features live bands and DJs. Fun spot in the growing and changing Gordon Square area. Not for snobby or ultra-trendy people.

“Happy but not Gay”

It's a hot dog place. Cool, but not gay or a gay bar. Once again, Gay Cities sucks.

“LOL it's a hot dog parlor not a gay club, people!”

This is definitely not a gay bar. It's a hipster hot dog spot in a rundown area near Gordon Square. Give me a break.

“Simply the Best Damn Bar in Cleveland”

In a city stuck in social limbo, The Happy Dog on West 58th and Detroit is a welcome standout. Stylish, hip, with an edgy cosmopolitan vibe you'd find in Soho or Chelsea—this is the place to be. Not for the shallow Flirtini crowd from West 6th; leave the attitude behind and come dressed in denim with some depth. The ground-floor bar has a huge drink selection and its quirky signature 50 hot dog toppings (don't miss the award-winning burgers) have made it nationally famous. The basement venue, The Underdog, hosts rotating shows covering everything from indie to polka to classical. A favorite among music conservatory students, with an atmosphere that's both intellectual and urban chic. Parking is now plentiful next to the bar and in nearby Gordon Square lots. The Happy Dog is a 21st-century multicultural bar where gay and straight friends can hang out without losing money or self-respect. If you want a club you're proud to be seen in, this is it.

“Not gay but full of long sausages”

Why are half the bars on this site not gay? Cleveland is so dead that straight bars have to be listed in the gay section to make up for the lack of nightlife?
