About

Bar: Full bar

This brewpub has been in business since 1994, making it one of Providence's longstanding destinations for craft beer and pub food. The in-house beers and full bar draw a mixed gay-straight crowd that keeps the place lively well past midnight.

Food is served late (the menu starts at 10pm), so it's a reliable stop after a show or a night out. Downstairs you'll find a pool table and a DJ on weekends. The atmosphere is casual, and reservations are accepted.

A few things to know: Trinity is located in the Downcity part of Providence, not in the downtown area near the capitol building. You might get confused if you ask someone for directions to downtown. The brewpub is friendly, fun, and welcoming to all, but it's not a gay bar. You will also encounter Brown University students here, who often act like self-righteous social justice warriors, so be careful what you say or enjoy making fun of them. Either approach works. The crowd is lively.

“Nice beer bar, but NOT a gay bar”

In 2014, when gay people are ordinary and can get married, a friendly bar should not be listed as a gay business. Otherwise, practically every bar in Providence would be on GayCities. As a beer bar that welcomes anyone with a valid identification, Trinity Brewhouse is friendly, inviting, and well managed. The beer selection is good, offering both familiar favorites and interesting local craft beers. The food menu is excellent, perfect for pairing with beer or sharing with friends. Prices are quite reasonable even though the bar is in Downcity. It should definitely be part of your pub crawl.

“Lots of space and fun”

There were two bars: one upstairs and one downstairs, with plenty of seating. The DJ and pool table downstairs were a lot of fun.
