Blur

Dancing · Cocktail Lounge · Houston, TX

About

A massive multi-level nightclub in Montrose, Blur draws an 18+ mixed LGBTQ+ crowd for late-night dancing. The club spans several levels, with an outdoor lounge, go-go dancers on poles, and a cocktail lounge vibe.

Reviews are mixed: regulars praise the music and reasonably priced drinks, but some cite cockroach sightings on the patio and a heavy fog machine. Saturday nights are the busiest, with a line at the door if capacity hits. Note that parking on site is not free, and the upstairs area lacks a dance floor or view of the main one.

Blur is located in Montrose, Houston's historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood, near Crocker St and close to other gay nightlife spots.

“DO NOT GO THERE”

I wouldn't send my family here, let alone my dog. Avoid this place. Their treatment of customers is very inhumane. Sadly, it's true.

“PLEASE”

Something needs to be done about the roaches that keep showing up on the upstairs and downstairs patio. It's disgusting to go out for a smoke and see cockroaches everywhere. The music is great, but those roaches made me stop coming.

“Favorite place in Houston!”

This is the go-to club for my friends and me in the area. We love the music and the drinks are excellent.

“Spartan weekend (March)”

It was my first visit to the city, and a friend brought me here. Parking on their lot isn't free, and there's a cover charge; it's 18 and up. Drinks were fairly priced. We went on a Saturday, and the music was decent. Way too much fog machine use! There were go-go dancers on poles. The place has an upstairs, but no dance floor or view of the main dance floor. There might be a wait due to capacity limits. There's an outdoor smoking area, but I don't think they serve alcohol out there, which is inconvenient. At 2am, they turn on the lights and kick everyone out.

“Enjoyable Night”

Went for the first time last night and had a blast. The music was good, with a mix of dance tracks. Drinks were good and fairly priced. I'll definitely make this a regular Saturday night spot.
