“Wow, Underwhelmed”
Just moved here and looked into places. This bar promoted bear events and a fun vibe. I went expecting bear folks, but there weren't any, and the atmosphere wasn't friendly either. The bartenders paid little attention, the crowd was unwelcoming, and the show was pretty bad. This was during Pride weekend 2014, and I was very let down. I had hoped for some engagement from the staff. It felt like a bait-and-switch: advertised as a bear bar but actually revolved around twinks and drag. Maybe this bar should be honest about its clientele and improve its service, no matter who comes in. Really disappointing; I wish Mapquest had made it harder to find—I would have wasted less time. I considered joining Bears of Houston, but not if this is their sponsor bar.
