A $3 million remodel brought brand-new sauna and steamroom to this Berkeley men's club. Steamworks has operated since 1976, making it one of the longest-running bathhouses in the area. It's member-only, with monthly memberships and private room rentals available in eight-hour intervals.
The warehouse space includes a hot tub, small gym with actual weights, and a TV lounge playing adult entertainment. The back area has cubby holes and plywood platforms. You'll find free wifi throughout. Best nights are Friday through Sunday.

They never seem to turn on the heat during winter; it's always cold inside.

I went over a year ago. I loved it. There was a good mix of men of different ages, races, and body types, and nobody was pushy. The room I got was a decent size for sharing with the guys I met. They have plenty of mouthwash stations so you can rinse and go again. The floor can get messy when you're on your knees, so definitely wear flip-flops. - successful visit - bring your own supplies - clean - cute guys - essentials provided - friendly staff - relaxing - yaaas

“bad staff”
The large man at the front desk is rude, unhelpful, and miserable. He shouldn't work there with that attitude.

“I'm shocked Steamworks let them use its name”
It was genuinely dirty, dark, and claustrophobic. There were weirdos, druggies, and sketchy types. Remember to bring sandals.
