I've always enjoyed going to Steam of Portland for over 10 years. Over time, things have changed and I wasn't aware of all the current rules. As a regular customer, I realized hours later that I had left my wallet in my car and needed to get it for purchases. I asked a staff member if I could go out to the car and come back in, but he told me I would have to pay again to re-enter, even though I had already been in the club for a few hours. To avoid any issues, as a loyal member for over 10 years, I felt I had to stay until my time was up without leaving. I now realize Hawk Bath House is better in many ways—it's smaller but nicer. I regret ever joining or renewing my membership at Steam of Portland. My advice: make sure you have everything with you before entering Steam of Portland. Otherwise, you'll have to pay again to come back in, even if you've already paid full price.

“Tuesday Steam Hot Because We Weren't creeping”

My friend and I went to Steam last night with a specific goal. It was our first time, and we had no idea what to expect. Once inside and undressed, we explored the layout. At first glance, there weren't many customers, and many who were there seemed a bit creepy, walking in circles. That wasn't our concern. The website description is a clear exaggeration; the actual bathhouse is nothing like the lavish depiction. It's adequate but nothing memorable or unique. It promotes itself as the best in town, but it's really the only real bathhouse in the area. Rooms are very small but big enough to lie down. Sanitation standards are high. Don't expect many features; it's generic with limited public areas. The outdoor patio is just a cramped rooftop space for smokers.
