“worst W hotel in the world!”
I usually enjoy W hotels—I've stayed at ones in places like New York, Chicago, San Diego, and Atlanta—but this location is disappointing. The bar patio has terrible and lazy waitresses and bartenders who act like they're too cool to serve you, forgetting who pays their wages. The rooms are nice, but don't expect to get any sleep because there are loud, obnoxious girls and their boyfriends leaving Drai's every night between 3 and 4 am. If you forget your room key, good luck getting past the rude security at the front door at night: if you didn't arrive in an expensive car, they won't let you into the lobby. Honestly, W Hollywood sucks. I'd recommend the Rebury Hotel across the street instead.

“Cool, Hip, New...But Beware”
I'm a big fan of the W chain, having visited properties in New York, Honolulu, Chicago, San Diego, and elsewhere. However, the new W Hollywood, though just as stylish and modern as any of them, has handed over its lobby and rooftop bars to a third-party company, making them nearly impossible to access even if you're a hotel guest. The place is overrun with security guards, lines, checkpoints, and attitude, turning the hotel into a nightmare in the evenings. My advice: go somewhere else for nightlife, but you might enjoy the comfortable rooms and friendlier daytime service.
