Walking into Davie School Inn, you're stepping into a 1910 schoolhouse that's been reinvented as a bed and breakfast. Each of the 11 suites is oversized with a king bed, spa tub, separate shower, and a kitchenette stocked with a Keurig and mini fridge. Three luxury suites add gas fireplaces and two-person tubs. A full breakfast is brought to your suite every morning, no communal dining room here. The inn is mixed gay-straight and welcomes everyone.
You're 20 miles south of Carbondale, near the Shawnee National Forest and Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Owners Lyle and Tammy Woodrum met as a Marine and corporate professional before buying the inn in 2017. Hours are 9am to 7pm daily. It's a quiet escape with spa services available.
