Hyatt Regency Chicago

About
Open 24 hours a day, the Hyatt Regency Chicago works for any schedule, whether you're arriving late from a flight or heading out early for a run along the river. This hotel sits in the North Loop, surrounded by museums, food, architecture tours, and shopping. The property spans two towers with quick elevators and indoor landscaping in the lobby. You'll find a steakhouse, a really big bar, and several mini shops including Starbucks for grab-and-go snacks. The gym is a standout: free towels, snacks, and headsets are included, with both cardio and weight equipment.
During events like IML, the West tower's lower level buzzes with activity. Food at the hotel can be pricey, but the location makes it easy to walk to nearby dining or catch a cab. Regulars note the staff is friendly, and the elevators are super quick, though they might make your ears pop on the way to higher floors. This is a family-friendly, mixed crowd spot that's trans-friendly and welcoming to LGBTQ+ travelers. Consider the nearby Palmer House a Hilton Hotel if you want a historic alternative just steps away.
Located in the North Loop, you're steps from museums, dining, architecture tours, and shopping along the Chicago River.

“Great view of downtown”
There's plenty to do on the ground level of the taller tower. Had a great time during the big leather event. Food is expensive. The lobby is nice with lovely indoor plants. Very fast elevators that made my ears pop going to the top floor without stopping. Staff was friendly.

“Best Of The Best”
If you're visiting Chicago for a weekend or longer, I recommend staying here. It's near north on Wacker Drive and close to everything. Dining, drinking, or anything else is within walking distance, or you can take a cab if you prefer.
