“2011 visit”

We chose Bourgoyne Guest House for its location and positive reviews. Our room was a studio in the rear of the property. As frequent travelers, we expected an older building to have less space and modern amenities, so we kept our expectations realistic. On arrival, the room was fairly large with mostly antique furniture, but upkeep was poor. The rug had stains and dirt; we found a vacuum in a closet but it was broken, and it seemed that broken vacuum was used for cleaning. Other issues included peeling paint, a dripping hot water faucet, inability to shower if someone below was showering, and a bed that sagged before we even got in. Also, payment is handled next door, and the charge appears under that business's name, not Bourgoyne Guest House.

Simple but very convenient, cozy, and comfortable. Slept well despite street noise.

“Newlywed”

Whenever I enter the Bourgoyne courtyard, it feels like coming home! We always stay here when we visit New Orleans. I love the owners, the rooms, and the vibe.
