“Two more words: Never Again.”
This place charges Hilton-level rates but delivers a Fawlty Towers experience. Don't stay here. New Orleans is fun and we'll return, but not to this hotel—it's not worth the money. Southern Decadence draws a gay crowd, yet we only encountered two other gay couples; the rest were mostly straight, so it doesn't feel like a gay hotel. The staff was polite and seemed to try, but they weren't professional. We asked for two room keys but only got one, and the second one didn't work; we couldn't get it replaced during our three-day stay despite multiple requests. The pool is small and unheated, but okay. The hot tub is lukewarm at best. The floors were mopped daily, but apparently with the same dirty water used for other rooms. The large sun deck had only two lounge chairs, one of which was broken. Four of the nine light bulbs in the room were burned out. Worst of all, the dresser was broken—not just unusable, but it made the whole room feel like a dump (there's a photo). All this for $170 a night. Really? Don't go there. Never again.

“As a former employee, give it a try!”
I previously worked at this Guest House. It's a very charming small place with a nice pool. The breakfasts are quite good and feature local foods. Definitely worth checking out if you want something quaint and appealing.
