About

Open daily from 8am to 10pm, the Beachway Resort & Hotel is a smoke-free, child-friendly property with a century of history behind it. Originally opened as the Pokagon Inn in 1900, it burned down and was rebuilt in 1906 before becoming the Beachway in the 1980s. Today you'll find a range of lodging options: hotel rooms, efficiency suites, waterfront suites, Jacuzzi suites, cottages, and rental homes on Lake Michigan. Dogs are welcome, and free WiFi is available throughout.

The resort has been under the care of owners Kathy and Frank Wilson since 1984, who rescued the crumbling building and poured in major renovations. A second remodel in 1994 expanded the front, adding extra space to view rooms. Saugatuck's gay-friendly scene is close by, and you can walk over to The Dunes Resort for a drink or drag show. It's a solid base for exploring the area's beaches and galleries.
