About

In the Grove Park neighborhood, this historic resort sits atop Sunset Mountain with sweeping views of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Built in 1913, the Omni Grove Park Inn features a 43,000-square-foot subterranean spa, an 18-hole Donald Ross designed golf course, and multiple dining options. The stone-and-wood lobby with its massive fireplace and rocking chairs invites you to grab a glass of wine and unwind. It's famously hosted nearly every president in the last 50 years, along with countless celebrities.

The resort is dog-friendly and offers free Wi-Fi. If you're staying in the newer wing, note that guest rooms could use a remodel, but the service remains top-notch. While it's not particularly LGBTQ+-focused, the family-friendly vibe and extensive amenities make it a solid choice for a relaxing getaway. For a more centrally located option, the Renaissance Asheville Downtown Hotel is just 2 miles away.

“Stunning views, service, setting”

This is a truly special place to stay. The historic inn is built from local stone, and the massive lobby fireplace makes you want to grab a drink and sit in a rocking chair. The views are incredible and the service is excellent (the property is managed by Omni). The rooms in the newer wing where I was need updating; the bathrooms feel a bit like a motel. As someone else noted, it's lacking in LGBTQ+ presence (even the staff, aside from one or two), but I still strongly recommend it.
