Magnolia HOTEL

Historic boutique hotel near Old Market and gay nightlife

About

The old Aquila building's arched windows and restored common areas set the tone for this European-style boutique hotel. It draws a urbane crowd, with a high quotient of GLBT customers, and sits across from the Orpheum performing arts center. Omaha's largest gay dance club is just 2 blocks away. Rooms are nicely decorated but a bit small, per reviews. The lounge/restaurant is a popular see-and-be-seen spot. Dog-friendly with free wifi, it offers easy walks to Old Market dining and shopping. If you're staying longer, Residence Inn Omaha Downtown/Old Market Area is another option nearby.

“Charming historic hotel”

It's not on the level of luxury hotels like the US Grant or the Westin Book Cadillac, but this historic property is still quite nice. The public spaces have been beautifully restored, and the rooms, though somewhat cramped, are tastefully decorated.
