Tropicana Casino & Resort

A Must Visit Casino Hotel in Atlantic City

About

This Atlantic City hotel is best suited for travelers who prioritize entertainment options over room quality. The Tropicana Casino & Resort sits on the beach and Boardwalk, offering a 24-hour casino, The Quarter entertainment complex with dozens of dining and shopping choices, an IMAX Theatre, and a spa. However, guest reviews warn that rooms, particularly in the West Tower, feel dated with chipped paint, dust, and maintenance problems. Some sleep in their clothes to avoid bedding contact. You'll find plenty to do, but double-check which tower you book.

“Not on my dine”

I came along with a friend who is a huge fan of Patti LaBelle. Besides the cost of tickets to her concert, he paid $390 for the room, which was large but very plain. The paint was peeling, the windows had a dusty film, the place smelled like an attic, the furniture was outdated, the colors were faded, and everything felt worn down. The view from the 45th floor was great in theory, but the dirty windows made it hard to appreciate. The restaurants were all average, and the decor throughout felt dated, but Patti performed beautifully, looked stunning, and was very kind and humble during the meet and greet, taking pictures with all of us before going on stage. We ended up having a great time despite being so turned off by the room that we slept in our clothes to avoid touching the bedding.

“Tropicana Casino Resort”

The resort has plenty of activities and the casino floor is being renovated, but what really needs work are the guest rooms, especially in the west tower. The bathroom had rust, the flat screen TV kept going black, and there was no hot water in the sink. The decor is old. Stay in any tower other than the west. The restaurants and food in The Quarter are very nice, with many dining and shopping options. Chickie's & Pete's was excellent.
