“Hooked on Kimpton”
Traveling across the country was exhausting, and I stayed in some terrible hotels along the way with my dog. This was the first one that matched all its positive reviews. The staff was extremely polite and ready to help. The decor was upscale and the designs were functional. They were very pet-friendly, providing a bed, dog bowls, and treats, which meant a lot to me as a pet owner. It's located near various upscale shops and a movie theater directly across the street, and it's about a 10-minute drive from the gay area. If you're a member, you get free Wi-Fi (which I think should be free anyway) and a $10 mini bar credit. Membership in Kimpton Hotels is free. I definitely recommend it; the prices are reasonable. The only con is that valet parking costs $23; if you choose not to pay, you have to try to find parking elsewhere, and your options are limited.

“Kimpton loves us like no other hotel!”
No other hotel brand does a hotel as cool, comfortable, and fun as Kimpton Hotels. The Palomar in Dallas carries on the tradition that Kimpton started in San Francisco in 1981. The staff is delightful, very gay-friendly, and they offer great Pride packages. They also give back $10 per room per night to AIDS services in Dallas if you book using the rate code RRC. They have the coolest pool and bar in Dallas. A must-stay.

“"Swanky"”
A very modern hotel with two restaurants: Central 214 and Trader Vic's (which is reportedly very popular). Staff was very courteous, rooms were nice with fancy linens and an upscale bathroom, and it had everything I needed. I didn't notice anything specifically gay-friendly, but they were friendly overall. My only regret was staying only one night. I had a king-bed standard room, which was very upscale.
