This is a great hotel to stay at, conveniently located near most attractions in Richmond. The lobby is quite unique and once housed alligators for travelers heading to Florida to see them. Those are gone now, but the lobby is still worth seeing. Both restaurants are excellent, one being diner-style and the other more upscale. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, the lobby is cool, and amenities are nice.

“Grand Hotel...small old rooms”
I have been here to give massages to clients, for events, dinners, and Christmas. It has a beautiful staircase and a grand Christmas tree. However, the rooms are small and the carpet and curtains look like they're from 1863. LeMaire is a great restaurant though. It's diagonal to the YMCA if you need to work out, and only a few blocks from Barcode and Godfreys bars.
