About

This isn't the kind of bed-and-breakfast you expect to find closed. The Gaslight Inn, a longtime gay-friendly guesthouse in Capitol Hill, shut down in September 2021 after the property was sold. Before closing, it was known for its turn-of-the-century charm, a swimming pool, and a quiet residential setting near bars and shops.

The inn had a common living room and library, and rates started at $98 per night. Breakfast was included, and free wifi was available. Rooms were described by guests as spacious and comfortable. The owner and staff were praised for their hospitality. If you're looking for a similar experience, venues like Hotel Max still operate nearby.

“It's like "Home Sweet Home" in your most vivid dreams!”

This urban inn holds the warmest place in my heart, and I wish I could visit at least once a year to experience all its wonderful rooms. Staying here elevates the entire local experience, adding something special to every moment. The staff are always warm, friendly, and highly capable. They clearly take great pride in their establishment, and it shows in everything they do. I really want to go back again as soon as possible!

“What a wonderful place”

My first stay at the Gaslight Inn was fantastic. The location is perfect—everything I needed was within walking distance. The atmosphere is calm, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and enough to fuel a day of exploring. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and peaceful. The owner and staff are pleasant, responsive, and a great asset to the inn. I can't think of a better place to stay when visiting the city.

“BEST IN SEATTLE !”

Located in a residential area, close to bars, restaurants, and shopping. The city bus runs frequently to take you downtown. Rooms are wonderfully large, and the owner is extremely friendly and hospitable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone going to the city. There's also a swimming pool. It's nice and quiet.
