“A favorite breakfast cafe”
The food here is good. Park Pantry has excellent pancakes and the food quality is very consistent, but the menu isn't pretentious. Think of it as a slightly upgraded Denny's. The view of the park makes it nice for an early brunch with family and friends. It's gay-friendly (only).

“Over Rated but Gay Friendly”
The restaurant itself is nothing special, kind of like a downgraded French Market. The food is mediocre, and so are the people. If it weren't for the gay crowd mixed in with the elderly, I would probably skip this place altogether. This is not a gay establishment, though. They are gay-friendly. The waitresses put on a "girlfriend" attitude for bigger tips if you look gay, but it feels a bit fake. I wish they would come out already.

“park view eatery”
The food here is very good; you might consider it an upscale coffee shop, a great spot to socialize with locals. You can go for a sunrise breakfast or a sunset dinner. The best part is that it's a two-minute walk to the ocean to see either sunrise or sunset, located across from Bixby Park (locals call it Cherry Park because of its cherry trees). Try not to leave without some of their fresh-baked goods!
