Bossa Nova
Latin Spanish · Los Angeles, CA
About
If you're walking into Bossa Nova in West Hollywood, the first thing you'll notice is the prime location: it's right across from The Abbey on Santa Monica Blvd, with a patio that gives you a good view of the street. This Brazilian spot serves up a Latin menu in a laid-back setting. The Skirt steak Baura sandwich is a favorite among regulars.
The vibe is casual and unpretentious, but the interior can feel a bit cramped. The patio is where it's at. Hours run late, up to 1am on weekends, so it's a solid stop before or after a night out. Food quality gets mixed reviews, but the location and late hours keep it popular. You can also grab a bite at Porto's Bakery and Cafe nearby if you're in the mood for something different.

“Basic”
The food was decent and the prices were quite low, but personally I'd spend more for a higher quality meal.

“Not a good restaurant.”
The space is unattractive and the service was mediocre despite the place being quiet when I visited. The patio offers a nice view of the street and the establishment across from it. Inside, it feels cramped. The chicken sandwich is nothing special, and the plantains were overcooked. Except for the patio overlooking Robinson and Santa Monica Boulevard, I don't see a reason to come back.

“Traditonal chicken.”
I recommend the traditional chicken dish with rice, beans, and plantains. It's delicious. I also hope they update the interior soon.

“Love This Place!”
Bossa Nova is a very relaxed, casual spot. It's a great choice if you like Brazilian cuisine. My go-to dishes include the skirt steak sandwich and the baura sandwich. Since it's right across the street from the Abbey, it's perfect for starting a night out.
