Workshop Kitchen & Bar
American · Pizza · Palm Springs, CA
About
The chef at Workshop Kitchen & Bar studied at the Paul Bocuse Institute and apprenticed at the 3-star Michelin Lameloise in Burgundy. That training shows in the seasonal American fare, which changes often based on what's fresh from local farms. The space occupies the historic El Paso building, with an industrial chic interior and a courtyard that's quieter than the dining room. Full bar, outdoor seating, and dog friendly too.
Reserve a courtyard table if you want to avoid the noise; misters keep it cool on hot evenings. Regulars recommend the duck fat fries, and the wine menu gets consistent praise. It's a good-for-groups spot with a trendy vibe, best visited Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday according to Yelp data.

I went here with friends for my birthday dinner and it was amazing. The chicken dish was among the best I've ever eaten. The indoor dining area can be loud, so book a table in the nice courtyard. If it's hot, they have misters that cool things down. This is likely the top restaurant in Palm Springs, which isn't a huge compliment, but I'd recommend Workshop no matter where it is. Great wine list, heaven for food lovers, reservations needed, delicious.

“TOO EXPENSIVE AND TOO NOISY”
The decor is really nice, but that's the only positive. It's way too loud, service is very slow, and the food was okay but nothing special except the price, which is very high. It's trendy, but shouldn't we be able to get a good meal at such an expensive trendy place?

“New, dedicated to food, drinks, and design!”
They only use fresh local ingredients; the interior has a great industrial chic look with a stark but welcoming feel in the historic El Paso building, which also has a courtyard. The fries are cooked in duck fat and are fantastic. There's also a beautiful, fun bar. You'll adore this spot!
