About

You'll see only 12 seats when you walk into Sushi Zone. That's it. The tiny space focuses on a small menu built around whatever's freshest that day. It's a sushi spot in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood, casual and no-frills, with prices at the standard $$ level. No reservations are taken, so be prepared to wait.

The service? Patient. Regulars joke that they call it 'Sushi Slow' because everything takes time. If you arrive after 5:30, expect a wait that can stretch to two hours. A sweet pit stop before or after? Bi-Rite Creamery is nearby for a cone. Go early, go solo or with one friend, and you might snag a seat without the marathon.

“Good sushi but slow service”

My friends and I refer to this place as 'Sushi Slow' because the service is incredibly slow. The wait can be up to two hours if you arrive after around 5:30 PM, so I don't come here often because of that.
