About

In the center of the Castro District, Wasabi Bistro offers reasonably priced sushi with a perk: complimentary gyoza and edamame when you order from the extensive menu. The crowd is mixed gay-straight, and the vibe feels like a throwback, with decor that one reviewer called "oddly decorated" and "something out of 1970s New Jersey." It's a casual, no-frills spot that opens at 3pm daily.

The sushi is decent but not top-tier; regulars mention the oysters with radish and the Golden Eye till salmon roll. Prices are moderate for the area. For a sweeter treat after your meal, you might walk over to Bi-Rite Creamery . Just know that other sushi options like Osaka and Barracuda are nearby if you're looking for something different.

Nice atmosphere, decent sushi. The staff was friendly, but it felt a bit pricey for what you get.

“Just OK Sushi”

This sushi spot has a weird decor that feels like a 1970s New Jersey throwback. The sushi is okay but not great, and it's pricey. With other options nearby, you have better places to go.

The oysters with radish were fantastic. The golden eye tuna roll was a good sweet salmon option and the miso soup was also excellent. Great longer music playlist made for a nice afternoon outing.
