Yamo is open nightly from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, making it a perfect early dinner stop. This tiny Burmese-Chinese spot has just 6-8 counter seats, no decor to speak of, and nearly always a line. But the food is fantastic and cheap.
The kitchen is run by three women working nonstop. You can also grab carryout and head to Dolores Park just blocks away. If it's too crowded, nearby Bi-Rite Creamery is another favorite for a sweet treat.

Three women work nonstop in this tiny spot to serve the constant stream of customers. The menu is simple with items like fried noodles and rice stir fries, nothing fancy, but the prices are great and the food is very good. There's always a line waiting to get in.

A friend told me about this place, and now I visit every trip to San Francisco. The Burmese food is fantastic. The space is so tight you have to step outside to change your mind, with hardly any decor, just 6 to 8 counter seats and usually a line, but worth it. Takeout is a good option, then head to Dolores Park and enjoy the view. The miso cod is excellent, and overall it's cheap.
