About

Bar: Full bar

Walking into Cafe Saint-Ex, you're greeted by a long antique wooden bar and walls covered in aviation memorabilia, including a propeller from a WWI-era plane. This U Street Corridor spot has a cozy, upscale vibe but remains unpretentious, drawing mostly locals for brunch, dinner, or late-night drinks. The crowd is mixed gay-straight, and the atmosphere leans romantic without being stuffy. Weekend nights, the basement transforms into a DJ bar with dancing.

Brunch here is a steal – affordable, with good craft cocktails like a well-made bloody mary. The menu is modern American, focusing on fresh sustainable ingredients. If you're in the area, Rasika is another excellent nearby option for a different cuisine. Reservations are accepted, and sidewalk seating is great for warm evenings. The full bar and free wifi make it easy to linger.

Cafe Saint-Ex is located in the U Street Corridor, a lively area known for its diverse dining and nightlife scene.

“Great for Brunch”

I'm a fan of Cafe Saint-Ex because the brunch and cocktails are reasonably priced. Their bloody mary is excellent! It's very budget-friendly and has a welcoming vibe. It's not fancy, and I'm perfectly okay with that.
