Blue Heaven
American · Sunday Brunch · Key West, FL
About
Roosters strut between tables as you sip a Bloody Mary under the trees. Blue Heaven, a bohemian shack in Bahama Village, serves American fare with a Caribbean twist. The beer-batter pancakes and lobster Benedict draw crowds, and the live music adds to the open-air garden vibe. There's a wait, but it's worth it.
They split their day into breakfast/lunch and dinner services, with a break in the afternoon. Locals know to grab a key lime pie slice for dessert. If you're exploring nearby, Santiago's Bodega offers a different scene for small plates.
Blue Heaven sits on Petronia Street in Bahama Village, a historic Key West neighborhood known for its Caribbean flair and local character.

“Breakfast with the roosters...”
You can have a really nice breakfast here while roosters wander around. The back patio captures the true feel of Key West. It's been a favorite for years, so plan on a wait if you don't have a reservation.

“Key West to the Core”
Nothing says 'We're in Key West!' like Blue Heaven. The food is decent, drinks are satisfying, but the main draw is the ambiance. Sit outside if possible; the place feels like stepping into another world where you might want to stay forever.

“We Made a B-Line For This Place”
When some gay friends and I got off a cruise in Key West a few months ago, we headed straight to Blue Heaven for brunch. Any wait is worthwhile. Order a Bloody Mary, watch people, or follow a live rooster. Sitting under the trees, we had the Lobster Benedicts and appreciated the relaxed yet courteous service. Go there!

“Excellent Atmosphere”
A group of us on vacation in Key West heard about Blue Heaven for dinner and were really happy we went. There's great outdoor seating and an excellent menu. We were very pleased with both the food quality and the service, and the dessert was amazing too.

“gotta go...”
I always make a point to come here when I visit Key West. It perfectly captures the spirit of the Keys: dining beneath the trees at night, with excellent food and drinks. Expect a wait, but it's definitely worth it.
