“It just doesn't get anymore local than this place”
You'll hear the genuine New Orleans accent here—the kind that resembles Brooklyn speech. Fats Domino, a famous singer, often eats here (and his music plays frequently on the jukebox). We sat across from him recently. The seafood is excellent. It's located across from a Naval Base in the Bywater area, next to the Marigny neighborhood, so it's full of military personnel and locals. A true local gem. Go for lunch or an early dinner, as they close by 8pm (and stop serving 15-30 minutes earlier). Try the nearly all-you-can-eat steamed Dungeness crab for under $20, or any seafood dish.
