About
If you get tired of seafood and want to sink your teeth into a burger and keep drinking, this is the place. Yo Mama's Bar and Grill is a dive-y bar and grill close to Bourbon St., known for its famous peanut butter and bacon cheeseburger and one of the largest tequila selections in the city. The vibe is mixed gay and straight, welcoming, and happy hour friendly. Sides like a huge baked potato or salad round out the meal, and they also serve great gumbo.
The bartender Erica is awesome and gay-friendly. She's known to send you off the beaten path for real NOLA culture. Hours are daily 11:30 am to 11:00 pm, though unconfirmed. It's a nice break from Bourbon St. for a relaxed meal and drinks. If you're looking for a spot nearby, Mother's is also a solid choice.
Located in the French Quarter near Bourbon St., Yo Mama's is a short walk from the main tourist drag but offers a more local, relaxed vibe.

“Hands-down”
This place has the best burger in the French Quarter, or maybe all of New Orleans, without question. The slogan 'Load that bitch up!' sums it up.

“Good food, great staff”
Not especially LGBTQ-oriented, but a welcome change from the Bourbon Street scene. The bartender mixed us great drinks and gave us tips on where to find authentic local culture off the tourist path.

“It's not really "gay" but they do great burgers”
When you need a break from seafood and just want a great burger while drinking, go here. Toppings range from ordinary to outrageous (peanut butter? caviar?) and come with a huge baked potato or salad. Their gumbo is excellent too. The bartender was fantastic and welcoming to LGBTQ+ folks. They even offer delivery.
