Cathedral Station
Middle Eastern · Boston, MA
About
Open weekdays from 2 pm to 2 am and weekends from 10 am to 2 am, Cathedral Station fits easily into a late lunch or night out. Formerly Red Fez, this spot still hints at its Middle Eastern roots with menu touches like pomegranate vinaigrette and Syrian/Lebanese mezzes, but now it's a sports bar with pub fare and creative cocktails. The vibe is mixed LGBTQ+, friendly, and good for groups. The patio and free parking make it a practical choice.
Reviewers note a nice atmosphere for watching games, though bartender service can be hit or miss. The food gets praise for being well-prepared, especially the apps and lamb. If you're exploring the South End, you might also check out nearby Mistral for a different dining experience.
Cathedral Station is located in Boston's South End neighborhood, near Perry St.

Nice neighborhood pub and sports bar. Came to catch the Patriots and Packers game. The bartender seemed a bit unfriendly, but the waiter was nice. The crowd was also friendly. Good atmosphere. Didn't get any food, so can't comment on that. There was a decent crowd on Sunday night because of the game. - nice ambiance

“Once upon a time...”
This used to be one of the only restaurants in SoWa. Now there are several within a few blocks. And yes, they also have free parking and outdoor patios. Go somewhere else - I guarantee you'll have a better time.

“All this, and a parking lot!”
A great patio for seasonal outdoor dining and its own free parking lot make The Red Fez a real hidden gem in Boston. This stylish, eclectic, and exotic space offers all the Syrian and Lebanese mezzes you'd expect, plus extras like pomegranate vinaigrette, excellent dips, and phyllo creations. The menu is perfect for sharing and lingering over creative cocktails. It's an ideal date spot that shows your insider knowledge of Boston and your fun side. Everything we tried, from appetizers to lamb, fish, and grape leaves, was expertly prepared. Live Arabic music on Saturday nights adds to the meal. I've enjoyed it with friends, on a date, and with a large group, and they handled all situations well.
