The smell of fresh-squeezed juice fills the air at Main Squeeze, Columbia's original plant-based spot since 1996. After 25 years as a full cafe, it's now a juice and smoothie bar with an eco-market selling bamboo products and a refillery. The owner's passion for sustainability is front and center, along with a new plant-based ice cream brand called Oso Cremoso.
The interior is dog-friendly with free wifi. If the owner is around, they'll happily chat about microplastics. Note that Yelp lists this venue as possibly permanently closed, so call ahead. Sunday brunch was a local favorite, but the kitchen is now closed.
