About

Bar: Full barBest nights: Fri, Sat

The Guadalupe District is home to Cowgirl, a lively BBQ joint that's been a Santa Fe staple since 1993. Sisters from the original NYC location brought cowgirl culture west, serving up ribs, margaritas, and live music. Waitresses in cowboy hats and western decor set the scene for a raucous good time. The New York Times called their margaritas "great," and the Wall Street Journal praised the nachos. It's casual, dog-friendly, and has a full bar with happy hour.

Weekends are the busiest, with live entertainment and karaoke drawing crowds. The space is small, so expect a tight squeeze, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Service is efficient, and the menu covers American comfort food with Cajun-Creole twists. You'll find a mix of locals and tourists, all there for the fun, not the frills.

Cowgirl sits in the Guadalupe District, a historic area just west of the Santa Fe Plaza with galleries and shops nearby.

“ALL Great - but”

The food is excellent. The bar has a great vibe. The live performances are outstanding. The employees are extremely friendly. However, the space is way too cramped. Even so, I had a wonderful time there on two separate nights.

“Great Food!”

Cowgirl is a favorite of mine because of its tasty food options. The staff is impressively fast and organized. It's an ideal spot for hosting visitors from elsewhere.
