About
Arriba Arriba has been a Hell's Kitchen staple since 1984, serving traditional Mexican fare in a lively cantina atmosphere. This family-owned spot is known for its famous 'Mama Margarita' and reliable dishes like tacos, enchiladas, and mole. The crowd is a mix of gay and straight locals, and the vibe shifts from laid-back weekend brunches to loud, party-fueled nights. They offer outdoor seating, a full bar, and happy hour specials.
Daytime is the sweet spot for lower prices and a more relaxed scene, while evenings can get rowdy with the noise level. The staff has a reputation for being brusque, so don't expect coddling. Reservations are accepted, and dogs are welcome on the patio. It's a solid choice for comfort food and margaritas with friends.
Arriba Arriba is located in Hell's Kitchen, a bustling Manhattan neighborhood known for its diverse dining scene and LGBTQ+ friendly vibe.

“STAY AWAY!”
Do not go here. They act like they're doing you a favor by seating you. Their rude attitude will kill your appetite. The food is decent, but the serving staff makes no effort to satisfy customers and can be outright hostile. There are many excellent Mexican restaurants in New York City, so there's no reason to visit one that mistreats patrons and shows no gratitude for their business. Stay away.

“Excellent!”
I had an amazing meal and really enjoyed the vibe. I even came back the next night for more. Sitting at the bar was great, the food was excellent, and it's a lively spot. I definitely recommend it.

“All about the margaritas”
This spot is busy and noisy, good for comforting Mexican food. It's not innovative—the food is consistent and satisfying—but you mainly come for strong margaritas and enjoyable meals with friends.

“Afternoon Oaisis, Evening Anarchy”
The food is excellent. At night, if you want to take friends out to celebrate and don't mind not having a conversation, this place works well. It gets very loud though. But I enjoy Arriba Arriba most during the day. Prices are very affordable, the margaritas and mole are both equally delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxed, a stark contrast to the chaotic evening scene.
