“Old School”
Mary Coyle's is truly an old-fashioned place, feeling like it's been around for over 70 years. My partner and I visited around 8 pm on a Saturday night. He liked the atmosphere more than I did, and the ice cream sundae we shared was just okay. The service was fine. Most of the customers were families, along with some high school students. We were the only gay couple there, and while we felt a bit out of place after spending many weekends in another city, nobody made us feel unwelcome. After eating, we watched a movie at the Highland Theater, another odd spot. I'm still not sure what to make of Highland Square.
